Fortography...

Every Weekend, we run into this strange problem. The scare of getting stuck at home, not able to shoot anywhere, etc , etc. However this weekend was not like that... We went to Gingee Fort. It really is a wonderful place. Its the sun and its heat that actually drives you away. So we did not bother to visit the second fort close by.

Yeah, some stuff abt the place itself. There is a huge fort on the top of a hill. ( Wonder how they built it ). And right below the hill, there is a Elephant Tank. I assumed it was some place where they bathe the king's elephants. Not really sure.. Apart from that there was really dark place which was the gymnasium. Wonder why the gym had to be dark.

We also saw a granary which was so huge. The history behind the fort is absolutely great. Or for that matter, history itself is always interesting. I guess the real reason is how your History teacher looked like. ( Mine was a real @#$% )

This weekend was a good learning experience for Satya who managed to take some great pics himself. Very nice to see that.

Destination Anywhere

At the end of W21, we were really breaking our head on where to go. One place where I def want to go now is Colombo. But then lot of ppl scare me about the war thts going on there. May be its not the right time to go..
Since nothing was working out, and since she is a little busy these days, I ended up at Lake Pulicat. Its a nice drive. The view from the road is amazing. Nice place, esp when you go in the early hours of the day. You would need to cross a railway gate to get there. All that I wanted again ...to shoot this fast train. I jumped on the other side of the gate and shot this picture. May be next time I would shoot in the middle of the track. Wonder how that would feel.. Sure would give some rush :) After getting back from the lake, ( for which we walked a couple of kms ), we came across this graveyard. The most scary part is that we walked near a grave that had a couple of fresh garlands on it. The flowers on the garland were not even dry which probably meant that someone was buried there only a few hours back. However, we got over that pretty quickly and enjoyed to play with some 'wildlife'.

On our way back, realised that the mercury was already begining to rise. But sort of funny to see it raining elsewhere. A quick stop again to have Vinnan and Mike teach photography lessons to each other while I caught up with my 40 winks. The spider was shot with Vinnan much to the amusement of the people on the road. Click on the spider to see its web more clearly. Nice shot Vinnan.

The Name is Neo

"Morpheus: This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. "

Now, am wondering what did I do... The red one or the blue one ? I dont remember which pill I took but then this is where I am now !

The Sound of Music....

I found here some of the most beautiful sounds you can ever hear. Starting from 350D to Mark II Ds. I'm Lovin' it.

Show Me The Money

The SX4 is all set to be lauched today. And this is one of the cars for some reason that I so badly want to buy. Wonder why !
Of late I get this stupid feeling that am becoming stingy and thinking a hell a lot of times before spending.
I know I was never like this before. There were a hell a lot of times when I spent money like crazy. Imagine spending 3000 INR ( $75 ) to take a walk in a mall !!! There are times, those days, when you are blinded.
Talking abt the sx4, this is one of the most awaited cars that I have known the recent times. I have been following this for sometime. Someone .. show me the money

The better part of our planet...

End of W13 and it was time to do the weekly routine. After innumerous sessions and a lot of planning, we planned to go to Bandipur. Bandipur usually, the land of elephants, looked very dry probably cos of the summer.

Forest guides told us that many animals cross over to Kerela during this time of the year where it is more green. Something that I hear whenever I go to a forest resort. " Had you been here last week, you would have seen so many elephants and tigers, blah blah blah " .

I still ended up seeing some deer, elephants and some fox that were attacking deer near a waterhole. Some pics from this really tiring trip. It took us 1200 kms in 48 hrs.
Hey A.S, how do you like the pics here ? Let me know.

The Fast and the Furious

Finally, a very interesting trackday. How nice does it feel to be on CBR !!!

Apart from the regular Porsches, EVOs there was a Skyline reportedly tuned at 700 bhp. There was also a GReddy eManage System fitted into it.

There was a Honda which was going to be a part of the Loudest car in Chennai competition. This had equipment worth INR 3,85,000 ( USD 8555)

Bridge on the Bay...

This weekend I walked on the broken bridge. A really scary bridge ...... Plus had the chance to meet my famous fisherman again. The guy who posed for my first silhouette last time was there to pose again. Jus wondering if he ever caught any fish.

I actually shot more silhouettes than all other pics put together. Somehow.. seems like childs play :)

Jackie, as promised, there is some update here. Lets see if there is anything from your end.

Notting Hill .....?

.... or rather nothing in the hill !

However it was , last weekend was a special one as I had a wonderful get-together. After deciding that we go to Bandipur, we ended up at Yelagiri. Not that suprising. Cos over the last few months, everytime we plan to go somewhere, we always end up in a place thats right on the opposite direction. Some pics from this scenic ( ! ) place.

One of the pic is of the cottage we stayed. Really good one .. complete with a swimming pool.

While trekking one of the hills, we came across this really scary well. Wonder how many ppl fell into it.

And ofcourse the scenery from the top of the hill while driving back.. Oh.. what a beautiful.....car;)

The God of All Things

So.. its temple time again. With a bigger crowd now. The suprising part this time was I spotted a guy charging INR100 to shoot pics and print them out. He had a D80 and look at his equipment. Incredible India indeed.

The bigger stars of the tour were my neice. One who loves to dance and the other strong one who is ready to lift mountains.

I got the best out of my 70-300 with an aerial view of the temple.

70 mins in Tibet

Some pics from the short and tiring tour of Madikeri, Nisargadama and the Tashi Lhunpo monastery.

The Tashi Lhunpo monastery was amazing with three huge statues inside the monastery. We missed the visit of DalaiLama and Richard Gere a couple of days back.
Apart from this beautiful place, we also went to Nisargadhama. We walked into a dark room here and lit up a candle. This was the first of the 130+ pics I shot over the next 3 days.

Btw, we drove 1500 kms in 3 days.
